Judge Danny Brown

 Precinct 4 Justice of the Peace Danny Brown

Danny Brown was sworn into office as Smith County Precinct 5 Justice of the Peace on October 1, 2024.

Brown, who has served as Tyler ISD Police Chief for 12 years, is excited to serve the community of Lindale, where he has lived for 20 years.

Brown worked for the Tyler Police Department for 21 years, until he retired in 2002. He then worked as a Child Protective Services special investigator for the Texas Department of Family and Protective Services for five years before becoming the Tyler ISD Police Chief in 2012.

Brown and his wife have owned a daycare, the Crayon Clubhouse Learning Center, in Lindale, for four years and are about to open another business there. Seed of Hope Visitation Center will offer a place where children in CPS care can have supervised visits with their parents.

Brown and his wife have been foster parents since 2015, and have adopted four children from the CPS system. They have adult children, as well as three young children at home, he said.
